"We just returned from the Croatian Islands small group tour. We had an amazing
time!. Spending 10 days on the Croatian coast in August was our best vacation
decision thus far. There was only ten of us on this tour and we learned a lot
though the sightseeing tours and from our tour director, but we also had enough
time to relax on the beach, browse the local markets and do some interesting
shopping. I will never forget the sailing to the island of Vis. I could go back
to Croatia just for another sailing trip."

restaurant. Return to your hotel for overnight. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (D)
Day 2: Dubrovnik
Drenched in sparkling sunshine and rife with mild Mediterranean
breezes, Dubrovnik is a lush region of mysterious coves, forested islands and
idyllic beaches. You will marvel at the limestone bricks of the walled Old City
which gleam like marble in the moonlight. With it's sharp detailing and unique
architecture, its many quaint buildings showcase an artistic heritage depicting
a vast landscape of lovely sea, sky and hills. In Dubrovnik you will visit the
extraordinarily beautiful cloister at the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of
the oldest pharmacies in the world, having remained open since the time of 1317.
In addition to this, you will enjoy the artistic treasures of the Assumption of
the Virgin, and also explore the Rector's Palace and XIV century Dominican
Monastery. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)
Day 3: Dubrovnik/Korčula
A complete day trip to Korčula is an incredible chance to
explore entirely one of Croatia's most beautiful islands. Spend the day in a
company of your local tour guide exploring the birthplace of Marco Polo. Then
visit the Abbot’s Treasury and discover all about the Moreka sword dance.
Korcula offers some of the best wines which you will have a change to taste
during our organized lunch of island specialties in one of town’s fine
restaurants. Overnight in Korčula. (B & L)
Day 4: Korčula/Hvar
This morning we will ferry over to the island of Hvar. Hvar has one of the first
communal theaters in Europe, built in 1612, called the Arsenal. There is also
the famous “Tvrdalj” Palace of Petar Hektorović, not to be missed. Spend the
rest of the day exploring this charming town, enjoying the magical views of the
neighboring islands and visiting some of the best local souvenir shops and
restaurants. Overnight in Hvar. (B)
Day 5: Hvar/Vis/Hvar
Today we take a sailing trip to the unspoiled island of Vis. This island was an
army base in former Yugoslavia, and it was not opened for tourism until 1989
when visitors came for the first time to discover that its natural beauty
remained intact. Admire the lush vegetation of Vis Island with pine trees and
citrus orchards as well as exotic species such as palm trees, cacti and a
particularly rare silver palm tree. Much of the island is devoted to vineyards
that produce the famous white wine, "Vugava" and the red wine "Plavac". Explore
Vis town on your own an find out about interesting ruins from the Greek and
Roman period, as well as villas and churches dating from the XVI and XVII
centuries. Enjoy lunch served either aboard the sail boat or on the beautiful
beach on Vis. Overnight in Hvar. (B & L)
Day 6: Hvar/Split/Krk
An exciting drive along the stunning Croatia’s coast towards Krk, the biggest
island on the Adriatic is ahead of us. First we stop in Jurandvor near Baka,
where we learn about Baka tablet (Croatian: Baćanska ploča), one of the first
monuments containing an inscription in the Croatian language, dating from the
year 1100. The tablet was discovered by scholars in 1851 in the paving of the
Romanesque church of St. Lucy (Sveta Lucija). Then we stop in Krk and stroll
through the old town with Frankopan Castle and Cathedral. Later, we come to
picturesque Vrbnik, where we have the opportunity to taste its well-known white
wine Vrbnička lahtina, home-made prosciutto & cheese in a traditional local
konoba. Overnight in Krk. (B & L)
Day 7: Krk/Pula/Poreč

city that has existed for three thousand years. The town has beautiful beaches
spread over nearly one hundred miles of beautiful and indented coastline. Here
you will learn about a story of mythical Argonauts, Romans, Venetians, Franks
and the time of the Austrian and Hungarian Empire. We continue to Porec well
know for its famous basilica of St. Euphrasius, a XII century UNESCO World
Heritage site that features artwork, mosaics and stained glass. Overnight in
Poreč. (B)
Day 8: Poreč/Brijuni/Poreč
Today we explore The Brijuni Archipelago National Park which comprises of Veli &
Mali Brijun islands and twelve smaller isles. These islands have been an oasis
of rest since the times of Antiquity. Consequently, quite apart from their
natural beauties they are also the setting for interesting historical sites.
Here we visit the remains of the Roman villa rustica from the I century B.C. in
the bay of Verige, and the safari park. The tour also includes visits to the
archaeological museum located in the Citadel building from the XVI century and
