Stroll the charming streets of Zagreb and admire the architecture of lively Ban Jelačić Square. ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Zagreb

Arrive at Zagreb airport, and then a short drive to your hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a short walk to the beautiful parks nearby. Then a lovely dinner with local delicacies before a cozy rest at your hotel.

Day 2: Zagreb

Stroll the charming streets of Zagreb and admire the architecture of lively Ban Jelačić Square. Pass through popular Tkalčićeva Street, walk to the delightful Kamenita Vrata, visit St. Mark’s Church with its brilliant multicolor tile roof, and experience amazing views of Zagreb at night from the Upper Town. After lunch drive to Varaždin situated on a plain near the river Drava. Varaždin is the most harmonious and beautifully preserved baroque town in this corner of the continent. Day 3: Zagreb/Opatija

This morning you drive to Opatija. And savor breathtaking views of the wonderful Opatija Riviera, one of Europe’s oldest and most elite summer resorts from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It continues to attract many famous names among imperial families and artists, scientists and politicians. Hotel Astoria, Opatija, (B).

Day 4: Opatija

Drive through the green countryside and medieval hill towns of inland Istria. Then you arrive at Motovun, a place of ravishing beauty. Motovun is the king of Istria’s medieval hill towns and still hosts a double ring of defensive walls and formidable towers and gates. Admire the amazing views of the Mirna Valley and visit the church built by Palladio. If time allows, you will stop in Poreč, home to the famous basilica of St. Euphrasius. Or perhaps drive to Pula, that exhibits the best preserved amphitheater in the entire world. Hotel Astoria, Opatija, (B).

Day 5: Opatija/Plitvice Lakes/Split

Drive to Plitvice Lakes National Park – the unique oasis of rare natural beauty! It remains one of Europe’s most beautiful nature reserve parks and consists of 16 lakes, all connected in cascades of murmuring waterfalls. Plitvice Lakes National Park was recognized and protected by UNESCO as part of the world’s natural heritage in 1979. So take a languid walk along the Lakes, and breathe in the fresh mountain air while listening to the lilting sounds of nature. Radisson Blu, Split, (B).

Day 6: Split

Split is the largest city along the Adriatic coast. Visit the palace of the 4th Century Roman Emperor Diocletian. Continue on to the charming town of Trogir, and learn why it is called the museum city. Radisson Blu, Split, (B).

Day 7: Split

Return your car rental at Split airport/port.
